Apart from affricates, which often could be represented by a sequence of the composing parts (e.g. not possibly for Polish which distinguishes between /t͡ʃ/ /tʃ/), two consonants found in several IAL alphabets are not represented by an ISO 646 letter in IPA (omitting the IPA-g which is not the ISO 646-g, but visually similar): [ʃ], [ʒ].
In this analysis any affricates are decomposed:
- /t͡s/ = /ts/
- /t͡ʃ/ = /tʃ/
